All painted by hand one brushstroke at a time. It's hard to see all the brushwork on the web. I have been a superrealist for years. I used to spend hours trying to make a painting look like a photograph. Did airbrushing for years. Painted giant murals for folks like Disney. My trophy portraits are not a tight as my other work. They have a lot of loose brushwork, and I don't try to hind the brushstrokes like I used to. It makes for more energy in the piece. I do make the face and animal very realistic to get them to "Pop" out from the canvas. I'm producing a video that shows how I work. That will post on my website soon. Basically I use a modern version of the old masters way of painting in color over a monotone underpainting. My work starts out with pencil. Only I don't do it directly on the canvas like the old masters did. I draw using a 2b pencil on multiple layers of smooth vellum tracing paper. Accuracy is vital in these portraits. When my drawing/tracing is done, I scan all
