Cabin fever and winter ‘blahs’ got you down? Too much down time between ice fishing and spring turkey season? Well, there’s no reason to mope around, not when there’s plenty of blue ribbon trout angling to be done, thanks to a unique opportunity known as Missouri’s trout parks.
Trout parks are but one of the Show-Me State’s five distinct trout fishing areas, the other four being trout management, special trout management, wild trout management, and urban winter areas. Perhaps because these trout parks are, not surprisingly, part of recognized state parks, they are very popular among southern Missouri anglers; so much so they constitute some 10 percent of the overall angling activity that takes place annually statewide.
